Hi All
Have to work this weekend so sorry job questions, but do you know if you can break an ellipse in even lengths between vertex points?
The skull, the ellipse around the square has 600x400 granite groundstone, so can I change the ellipse to 600mm long line segments? The problem is that at a distance of about 30-40m a support wall will follow the outer shell, but the support wall segment is 1000mm long so that ellipse I want to change to 1m long line segment!
Why
Yes, because I want to copy the outer granite stone in parallel to find the ultimate space between the beginning and the end of the radius of the wall of support so that it does not end in or the worst breaks into the outer granite shell

In V8i there was a mdl that ran asneed Syncbylevel.ma which kept everything by level. It looks like to me that the bylevel, color and weight settings needs to set in the dimension styles to maintain the same bySettings.
In Connect:
When placing a dimension with dimstyles and using a element template my dimension lines are set as expected to the BySettings but, my numerical values do not adhere to the BySettings.
Is the only way to do the BySettings with dimstyles values in Symbology>text setting color and weight to bylevel?
TIA,
Roland

Hello,
Is there a process to export multiple files in KML ? I would't export each DGN one by one and the batch converter does not have this file format.
Thank you
Hello,
I have problems with the installation of Microstation. When I install it there comes "Failed to copy payload for Microsoft visual basic for applications 7.1 (x64)"
does somebody knows wat I can do to solve this problem?
Already a big thank you!
Is there a download area that others can add component to for sharing?
I'm working for a small to mid sized company and we only have 2 Microstation users but are hoping to grow. We currently have our workspace configured to our personal workstations but I wanted to know the pros and cons of configuring it to a shared network versus leaving it the way it is. I have only been using Microstation for a month now so I'm still very new to the processes and wanted to gain some information from more experienced users.

Hi everyone,
I was curious if I could possibly get some help creating a line type that would resemble a fence line on staking sheets for telecommunications. Currently I manually draw a continuous line and then add circles. I would love to have a custom line type that would complete this task as that way I do it now takes too much time. I have tried to follow tutorial, but just can't get this down. It would be nice as the line type expands that it would add the circles automatically with it.
Here is what I am trying acheive:
Hi
I'm wondering if the AccuDraw command "R+V" (rotate view) have been removed in MicroStation CONNECT?
I'm usually using the command when I want to rotate my drawing from top view to see the drawing
from a straight angle. You can see how I did it in the previous versions of MicroStation below.
Step 1. I snap on one of the corner of the block
Step 2. I press "O" to set the origin of the AccuDraw where I have snapped.
Step 3. I press "R+Q" (rotate quick) to set the right angle for the drawing to be straight
Step 4. At that point, I use the "R+V" command, after that I'll see my drawing straight.
If the command is gone, then my next question is, do you have any good idea how to do this in another way?

SHIFT+Tentative snap menu is not working.
Can not pick a snap mode from SHIFT+Tentative menu or Snap menu.
Can not use "Nearest" snap mode from SHIFT+Tentative menu or Snap Menu.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. User Preference File (UPF) from previous version is being used.
Symptoms Include:
- Can not select any snap mode from SHIFT+Tentative list.
- Can not select any snap mode from Snap menu list.
- Snaps on Button bar work correctly.
Solution:
- Remove the UPF and let MicroStation generate a new
one.
2. Interface from a previous incompatible installation is loaded.
Symptoms Include:
- Not able to select "Nearest" snap mode from SHIFT list.
- Not able to select "Nearest" snap mode from Snap menu list.
- Other snap modes work.
- "Multi-snaps" are not available in SHIFT list or Menu list.
Solution:
- Do not use this interface. Generate a new interface
and copy custom tools from previous interface.

I created a deployment image for CONNECT U9. When I "Run as Administrator" to start the install, I get a pop-up:
"SmartScreen can't be reached right now..."
Now, our IT policy is that Internet access is blocked when you have Administrators rights (hence the creation of the deployment image). I *assume* that it is OK to run the installer....

Tools missing from Tools menu
Some tools are missing or cannot be found from the Tools menu. Also the Tools menu is much longer than normal and looks different in appearance. For example, the first tool is a 3D Main tool, however, when selected, none of the flyouts produce toolboxes or dialogs. The tools are all available from the menu option: Tools > Toolboxes
There are also error messages on start up, such as, "Unable to load dialog whose id is ....."
Customize appears twice in the Workspace menu
Check any configuration files in use, such as ucf.
Check the MS_FONTPATH variable. In this case it was assigned (using equals) to folders on a network drive)
These folders contained many duplicate fonts (duplicates of the delived workspace fonts, both .shx and .rsc), and another copy of ustation.rsc
The standard fonts delivered in Workspace were not being used
Removing the duplicate fonts from server, and changing MS_FONTPATH to append to the netwok folders resolved issue

Is there a way to change working units for a number of files in a batch process?
There is a key-in and an application that will allow you to change the units and also scale the file accordingly.
Key-in> set units MU, SU
This MicroStation V8 VBA macro ScaleFile allows you to rescale models (e.g. cells in cell libraries) using MicroStation's batch processor and a simple command.
