I have a project that was exported from AutoCAD where it set the Resolution units and Working Units to feet and I need them to be in US Survey Feet. I know I can run the Set Units Key-in to change the working units but is there any other way to change the Resolution units so I don't have to do it manually for every model? I'm currently using V8i, but I have Connect available if that would make any difference.
Is there an easy way to fix the resolution units with a batch process?
Preparing Layout in Microstation connect : is there any way to import legends automatically?
Microstation connect is having a separate section called sheet space for layouts. is there any possibility of importing legends in a definite format to the layout as a graphic or a part of drawing. ArcGIS is having a separate wizard for the import. is there any option to import the legend as like in arc GIS or any other similar way. Kindly suggest me so that it will be useful in sheet space.
Is there a component library to download site equipment
Is there a download area that others can add component to for sharing?

MicroStation Connect and MicroStation SS3
Will MicroStation CONNECT Edition (Full) x64 Udate 9 work along side MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 3) 08.11.09.459 [32 bit installation]. In other words, can they both be installed on the same PC and run independently?
MicroStation CONNECT Update 9.1 fails to start
After updating to MicroStation CONNECT Update 9.1, I see this message in a text window as MicroStation starts: MDL Loader: Could not load application ustnvba
MicroStation halts once the backstage is shown. It won't proceed to a work session. This is a default vanilla installation of MicroStation. Windows Pro v1709.

I uninstalled Update 9.1 and reinstalled Update 9.0. MicroStation CONNECT is working once more. An inconvenient experience.

Microstation CONNECT Trial - Failed when starting
Hi all
I've downloaded Microstation Trial (ms100600102en_updt6.exe), installed it.
But when I start it, it stops with a gray screen. No error message.
when trying to connect with Connection Client, I get the message "Not associated with an organization". But I have an account (just me, no organization, since I am testing it).
Hardware: Microsoft Surface Book 2
Any help appreciated

I have installed and run the CONNECT version of Configuration Explorer which shows 4no. errors. How do I find what the errors are? I can't see anything obvious that lists these in more detail.

Unable to create temporary file for Undo
Product: | MicroStation
Version: | V8 2004, XM, V8i, CONNECT
Environment: | N\A | ||
Area: | Drawing Aids | ||
Subarea: | General |
Problem
When performing the Undo command the following error message is being displayed:
Unable to create temporary file for undo: C:\....\....\Temp\msundo. Undo currently disabled, changes made to the file will not be able to be undone.
While editing any open file in MicroStation it is not possible to undo any changes made to this file.
Solution
Check that there is write access to the temp directory listed in the information message being displayed. This is where MicroStation writes the undo changes. i.e. msundo1, msundo2, etc. If this user logged does not have write access to this file or folder this message will be displayed and they will not be able to Undo any changes made to their files.

some questions regarding dimension association in MS V8i
Hello All,
I have some questions regarding MS V8i dimension association:
1. For associated dimensions, if I delete the source elements, the dimension line will be dotted. Is it possible to disable such function?
2. For associated dimensions, how to remove the association? And how to remove association for all? Is there keyin/MVBA way?
3. For associated dimensions which has lost the source element and is dotted already, how to change them in solid line?
4. For associated dimensions which has lost the source element and is dotted already, it it possible to print them in solid line?
5. How to reassociate dimensions? I tested on a dimension which connect to the end point of a line, OK. But if it connect to an end point and the middle point, failed. In another word, reassociate dimension function works one some key point only?
6. Can reassociate dimension function allow some tolerace? For example, it is not on the exact end point, but very close to the end point.
7. How reassociate all dimensions which can be reassociated? Is there keyin/MVBA way?
Thanks a lot!
Numerical Key Pad
I have just upgraded from Microstation V8i to Connect.
In V8 you can enter commands i.e. 34 (rotate) using the numbers along the top of the keyboard and/or the numerical keypad on the right hand end of the keyboard. Now in Connect I cannot use the numerical keypad as described, however I can use the numerical keypad to enter line distances etc.
I have played with the obvious num lock key.
User > Preferences > Position Mapping > Position Mapping is ticked...
Is there a setting which allows the use of the numerical keypad as described above?

Shared Cell Update
It would be good if we could simplify the shared cell definition update to a right click>update from library as per element templates, materials, multi-lines etc etc...
The current workflow is, to say the least convoluted,
- open the dgn file (in which you want to replace the pattern cell)
- open Element>Cells
- detach an attached cell library
- make sure the option Use Shared Cells is checked
- activate and place the shared cell that is used in the pattern (so that there is at least one instance in the file)
- uncheck the option Use Shared Cells
- attach the cell library that contains the replacement cell
- select/activate the corrected cell (click the placement button in the Cell library dialog)
- activate the replace cell command
- set the following:
method: Replace
mode: Global
- identify and accept the visible shared cell
- the pattern cell should be replaced now.
- update the view
- the pattern cell should now be updated
